Nickell’s Bag

Okay, so normally I wouldn’t post up an actual recommendation to see a show unless I’ve seen it with my own two eyes, or at least know the material or the artists myself. But I’m breaking that rule today.

Go see “The Goat, or Who is Sylvia.” It’s a play. You can read about it here.

I’ve had three different people — people with sophisticated and educated tastes — tell me it’s the best theatrical production they’ve seen in this town in years. Another friend couldn’t even put into words his enthusiasm; he just kept saying, “oh man, oh man…” over and over again.

I’ve not been able to go see it myself; too many unavoidable schedule conflicts. All this buzz makes me more than curious. I’m gonna see if I can go on Saturday; but since that’s the last performance, any review I write will be after the fact.

So, on the word of friends I respect, I’m giving this one a second-hand thumbs-up. The show goes on tonight and Saturday only, at the Crystal Theatre. Show starts at 8, tix are $15.
