If you’re in Whitefish this week and looking for something to do that doesn’t involve strapping on your snowboard, I received notice of the perfect solution: Go to the Great Northern and watch a couple of films….about snowboarding.
Actually, it sounds like a good time, as there’ll also be some live music thrown into the mix. Here’s the full info straight from the source, with some videos to give a sense of what’s in store…
Salem has embarked on a ski film premier concert tour produced by the Risan Project. The tour features film premiers with Sweetgrass Productions “Signatures”, a 100% human-powered ski, snowboard, telemark and noboard film. We will also be showing the Protect Our Winters 15 minute short film called “Generations” that was produced by Northface and Teton Gravity Research on the set break. Salem plays Todd Anders Johnson’s socially-conscious funk, jazz, hip-hop music and just performed at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Copper and the US Snowboarding World Cup in Telluride last weekend.

Great short ski film — a bit more refined than what my 12 year old son shows me on a daily basis.
