Nickell’s Bag is the mindspill of Joe Nickell, editor of the Entertainer and arts and entertainment reporter at the Missoulian newspaper. With five fingers in the local music scene, one eye glued to the canvases of local artists, an ear to the theater, and both buttocks planted in a very comfortable office chair, Joe is grossly contorted and stretched out like a rubber band and you shouldn’t look at him lest you be disgusted. Ah, but you don’t have to see him in order to know what he’s thinking, thanks to this blog.
Joe has a life outside his job. He has a wife, DaLynn, an infant son, Julian, a dog named Jorge Delgado, cats named Annabelle and Oscar Jean, and some tropical fish. He enjoys hunting and fishing and skiing and hiking…blah blah, Montana guy, blah blah…and, oh yeah, he co-produces Rox, lauded as “the first television series broadcast on the Internet” (Time Magazine) and “the best TV show in America” (Wired Magazine). Joe also co-edits Flyover, a team blog about art in the Great American Outback. His writing has been featured in the New York Times, Business 2.0, Salon.com, Outside, Wired, and a bunch of other magazines that wisely went bankrupt after Joe wrote for them.
