This time of year, there’s always something going on in Missoula’s arts scene. Tonight, there’s simply too much, even if your tastes are limited just to music.
Here’s a quick, partial run-down. If all of this sounds worth attending….well, you’re probably SOL, as several events overlap directly. But whether your tastes run to opera, world-music, Baroque, or rock ‘n’ roll, there’s a great show for you. [Read More...]
On a hot July evening last summer, an eclectic crowd of Western Montanans filtered into the University Theatre on the UM campus and found their seats for the opening performance of Montana Lyric Opera’s production of Verdi’s opera, Rigoletto.
In a way, it was one of those quintessentially Missoula moments: grown men in shorts and Hawaiian print shirts found their seats next to kids dressed in their Sunday best; doctors and rockers shared armrests; people waved across the auditorium and chatted with old friends. Should be awesome. You can find out details here.
Lastly, tickets go on sale this Saturday, May 1, for Montana Lyric Opera’s production of “Madama Butterfly.” This is gonna be a truly awesome production, fully costumed and staged. Tickets will be available at www.MTOpera.org. Here’s the full press release with information on that: [Read More...]
Tonight from 6-9 p.m. is the third installment of Opera on Draft at the Badlander. The theme this time around: “Learn to Sing Italian in Five Beers or Less.” Show up with your credit card if you want discounted tickets to this summer’s opera festival. But either way, just show up. It’s a [...]
